What Makes It Different

This potassium-focused fertilizer strengthens plant tissue and improves turf durability. Potassium regulates water balance within plant cells and helps plants withstand environmental stress. This makes it particularly valuable for lawns exposed to heavy use, drought conditions, or challenging growing environments.

Storage

We recommend keeping your seed in a cool dry location, especially after opening. This helps to maintain a high germination rate for an extended period of time.

Handling

Seed is safe to handle. However if you are sensitive to airborne particles you may want to wear a mask when adding your seed to a spreader for instance.

We ship Canada wide. Most orders are shipped with UPS. Canada Post is used for some locations.

Shipping on Grass Seed is always free. Shipping on fertilizers is calculated based on weight.If your order combines seeds and fertilizers you will only be charged for the weight of the fertilizer. We do our best to offer a balance between fast shipping and reasonable shipping rates.

Why This Fertilizer?

Potassium-rich fertilizers play a major role in strengthening turfgrass against environmental stress. Potassium improves water regulation within plant cells and strengthens plant tissue. This allows turf to better tolerate drought, heavy traffic, and other stresses common in lawns. By improving plant strength and durability, potassium fertilizers help maintain healthy turf under demanding conditions.

Technical Details

Potassium is frequently referred to as the “stress tolerance nutrient” in turfgrass management. It regulates osmotic balance within plant cells and improves the plant’s ability to manage water during drought conditions. Research conducted through the Michigan State University Turfgrass Program shows that adequate potassium nutrition improves turf tolerance to heat, drought, and wear.

Potassium also strengthens plant cell walls and improves resistance to mechanical stress. Studies summarized by the Penn State Center for Turfgrass Science demonstrate that potassium fertilization can significantly improve turf durability in high-traffic areas.
